Installed my maximus vii hero with a 6700k and a h100i gtx and corsair dominator platinum 3000mhz! Few questions I'm on bios and the cpu temp
Is 27c is that normal? Have installed the cooler correctly? And my ram is saying its running at 2400mhz but the one I have bought are 3000mhz! Have 2x 4gb sticks thanks :)
 
You'll notice no real world difference running at 2400 rather than 3000 but if you want to run at that speed I believe you have to set the XMP profile option in the BIOS. Someone more knowledgeable than me will probably be able to help a a bit more.

As to the CPU temperature - 27 degrees is fine and a normal temperature when idle. What are your load temps like?
 
That temperature is absolutely fine, but if you want to run the RAM at 3000mhz you need to do as ExRayTed said above and set it to use the XMP profile in BIOS. Everyone on here will tell you it makes little to no difference, but I'm using Corsair RAM @ 3200mhz and can say 100% it DEFINITELY made a difference. Bench testing it was scoring higher, but also in games where I was noticing just a tiny bit of lag at standard speeds it wasn't noticeable when using the XMP profile. Fair enough it may only make a couple of FPS difference in a game, but if that's the difference between noticeable lag and not noticeable... So yes, just enable the XMP profile and it should alter all of the more complicated setting automatically so you're good to go at 3000mhz :)
 
Just installed Windows core temp is saying I'm running between 30-40c ! One question my h100i gtx clicks when I boot up or restart this is the only time is clicks is that normal? And I enabled the xmp in the ram to go up to 3000 thanks people
 
I've got no experience whatsoever with AIO's so I'm full chocolate teapot on those sorry, but those temps are definitely too high. Are the fans running constantly and how fast? Have you checked the block is seated correctly? Could take it off and see if the thermal paste is spread evenly over the entire CPU just to see if it was seated properly. Are all cores running close to the same temp or are some far higher than others?
 
Ok temps on Windows through corsair link are 23c 25c 22c 22c on the cpu! I updated the bios and made sure the cooler was attached firmly is that all looking good ?
