Just finished Far Cry for the first time!

WOW is all I can say. This has to be one of the best FPS's I've completed.

About a year ago I had ordered this game for a whopping £3 brand new delivered with a voucher, I thought what have I got to lose? I played it for a while and did about 3 levels before I formatted. I never installed it again until last week.

I had everything maxxed out apart from lightening cause it went strange for some reason, apparently it doesn't like the ATI software in this aspect :confused:

Spec is in sig, I was playing it at 1650 x 1050 and I'm truly chuffed with a game that far exceeded my expectation with it being what 3 years old?

I've kind of spent my revision time playing this, spent over 2 solid days on it.

The best thing is . . . After looking through a walkthrough for the last level - Me being a numpty and all, I meant to use a rocket launcher on the last level in the corridor but heck . . . I ended up being commando (after failing miserably about 20 times) with a shotgun. The part where you get thrown off the plane with only 10 ammo had me literally leaving something in my pants. I was like how one earth am I meant to get anywhere!

It's been fun and I'm definitely going to play it again on a more difficult level.

What's the online aspect like?

I so cannot wait till Crysis lands :cool:
 
Agreed. I seriously love this game. The multiplayer side of it is quite good although a lot of people say it isn't. It's a bit empty these days though and you may struggle to find a decent server.
 
Owing to a new large TFT I've fired this game up over the last few days and am hooked again. Definitely my all time favourite single player FPS (not tried multi).
 
Still love far cry, never played it on-line, but spent hours with a mate on LAN. :cool:

May well fire it up later. :)

Yea, Farcry's one of those games thats really benefited from patches and hardware evolution. Its in my top 10 all time favs now :D

This is the team thats doing Crysis, I think thats going to rock pretty hard.
 
hey me playing this too, got it all maxed out! lol

so smooth wid my setup.

i dunno how far i got but i'm at the towers and just killed 2 guys wid rockets and then monsters wid rockets are every where
 
i played it for ages on my old pc it came free with my old 6600gt agp lol,
it was the dogs dangles of graphics with that card back then :D

i got to the level where your inside some sort of zoo place? and theres like rope bridges in the air from tree to tree, to be honest i cant remember i was 12,

alltho i had more confidence back then, i installed it a bit since and i got to the part where theres the first mutant creature thing and it scared the life outta me, i dont like jumpy stuff alltho thats probibly to do with when i was assaulted last year it shook me up a bit,

but i love the graphics on the game :D

alltho, one thing, now these days i want to run everything top quality highest possible everything and my 7800gtx cant do that on farcry etc, cause back in the day a game was a game you just played and installed but when you get dragged into the knowlage of pc's in general it kinda makes it more fun and takes the fun away if you dont have the best :S

i just looked it up on a walkthrough i remember the images up to level 10-11 so thats how far i got as a 12 yr old :D not bad
 
i got a copy of this with my geforce gfx card last year, bloody thing was in german!! not impressed :(
 
Still never managed to complete this game. I end up giving it a go every time I reinstall windows or buy something that should make it look better.
Looks sweet as with HDR + 16xAA

Will complete it one day though, always get too fed up with the trigen that seem to be able to jump 50 metres and have a reach of about 5.....
