Just finished FF12

you are drip fed everything in FFXIII for the first 13 or so hours, it seems long winded but its required as the battle system is great (rest of the game is meh!) and quite complex if you want to use it to its full potential.

you level up on the sphere grid and each character is based on a specific roll although you can learn most things for each character on each role it cost a lot more if you dont stick to there preferred ones.

unfortunatly FFXIII was one of the biggest dissapointment for me this generation, great battle system, stupid story, far too linear and not many likeable characters (in fact you'll end up despising a couple atleast)

FFXII didnt feel anything like a Final Fantasy to me because of the battle system. It put me off big time.

Along with that, the voice recording was abit weird and I didn't like the soundtrack one bit... and I always look forward to a brilliant soundtrack to a Final Fantasy game. BRING BACK NOBOU UEMATSU!!

Happy he came back for FFXIV =D

It seems FFXII is a poor copy of FFX. The main character Vaan looks so girly. I don't understand why final fantasy devs insist on giving the main male character a female outlook:confused:.

I think XII was awesome :) sure it was a bit aimless at times and the summons were crap, but you got the feeling you were just a little part of the games vast world and I liked that aspect of it.

XIII was an abomination. I don't think Square know how to make a good game anymore :( it's all flash and nothing underneath.

I must be the only one who enjoyed ff13, okay the battle system was rubbish but i enjoyed the charactors, settings and the overall feel of the two worlds.
Anyway favorite order from 7 onwards 8-7-10-13-9-12-10x2

I enjoyed FFXIII but was abit disapointed on the linear gameplay and lack of world exploration like the previous ones.

The really need to bring back the idea of walking around the world like in FF7,8 and 9. I liked that.
