Just finished with BT, Which ISP to go with for a stress free life???

Im leaning more to Zen all the time, im guessing though if Sky say that they can offer me a LLU connection in 2 months then so should all the other companies??? (it must just be enabled on my exchange, nothing to do with Sky, right?) So the plan could be to go for Zen for 3 months, see how I get on and then maybe go for LLU 16mb+ when the exchange is done.

Go for Zen :) they are probably numero uno ISP in the UK atm, I used to like Nildram till Pipex bought them and styarted having degraded service and customer support.

I was with Zen but moved to Aquiss. Its a little known ISP. I thought Zen's customer service was good, but Aquiss top them! For example, I sent an email to their customer service at 11:20pm, and received a reply at 11:40pm. There's not many ISP's I know of who will respond that quickly at that time of night.

Its more of a community than an ISP. 100% recommended.

I read this and thought, "yeah, not bad" and then noticed the PM after the times
very much so. I am currently emailing them with regards to my other post you can see in the fourm....

Original email: 21:00
Their reply: 21:23
My reply: 21:27
Their reply: 21:37

I would recommend ZEN for number if you want 100% stress free life.

I also do recommend Bulldog if you live in a LLU area.

Others to consider

Pipex
Demon

Another Zen recommendation here.

The biggest change that I noticed upon migration was their excellent customer support which is in contrast to AOL's which was non existant!

ai Zen are good but aquiss kicks their ass :P

I have decided that im going to go with Zen, there's such a huge recomendation for them and they seem to be the best bet to go with for a easy life, im going to phone them next week and give them my MAC code.

I guess im right in thinking I can use any router with the service, I have been looking at the Netgear range, either the DG834G or the DG834PN, probly the first one. I wont have any problems using either of these with Zen will I?

Thanks as well to every one who has recomended them, I can finally put these nightmare 10 months of BT behind me. :)

You can do it online, for what it's worth.

As long as it's an ADSL router, you shouldn't have a problem. They don't do anything different from most other ADSL ISPs.

Thought about Zen several times myself too, but I'd rattle their 50GB limit too many times. Having a 300 Kbps NASA TV stream running for 12 hours a day for two weeks almost solid will do that, as will downloading shedloads of data off my server(s). :(

MinusNet :o

Actually, since I use very few of their add-on services (like email) which they seem to like breaking, I've had very little in the way of trouble from them since I shouted at them and asked for my MAC (senior CS intervened). Even scarier was that I had planned to move to Metronet.

That's except for this week when I was getting speeds as low as 100 Kbps for a day or two thanks at least in part due to a BT hardware 'upgrade'.
