I decided to see what the best/dearest parts in a rig would look like and look at the amazing system that popped out!
Only the best products from OCUK :-)
Can you imagine the POWER? I havn't even factored in the cost of vista 64, keyboard, monitor(s), mouse...

(hope i havn't broken any rules - i just had to share this with other enthusiasts :-)

Whoah! That would be a little bit powerful:) Apart from the memory, which wouldn't run on that motherboard. It only takes FB-DIMMs

lol, i actually noticed the ram issue but hoped no one would notice :-)

should have known someone would spot it in this forum.

without researching aech item specifically, i thought a good rule would be to go for the most expensive parts for the best rig :-)

What o/s ?

And what would you use all that power doing ?

If its something worthwhile like Rosetta or FAH then power to you.

If it's just for gaming then Schmuck !!

Buy a Ps3 and a 50" telly and still have plenty of change for games (legit) BluRay movies and a good night on the town.

I know its 'abit of fun' but our beloved goverment takes £950 of it to spend on something. :(

I suppose its pays for those poor MP's shopping and expenses :)

To Jonislot: i did just sort by price but its still interesting that most of the comments agree that the most expensive parts clearly have not built the best rig.

To Outcast: I think you kinda missed the point; besides it being a laugh, it was intended to be the "best" rig so its intended to do anything and every a computer possibly can do.

Didnt mean to annoy anyone so sorry if i did, but sounds like it was taken a bit seriously.

I can't understand why the mobo only supports FB-DIMM's, as if it isn't pricey enough already! :) Is it something you have to do if you're going two have two cpu's on one mobo or somethin?

Problems

1 - the memory wont fit ... (posted already above)
2 - you need to get an extra CPU cooling block, that kit only comes with 1.
3 - you need two water blocks for the two GFX cards. Not sure if they are available for the gx2's yet. So figure on at least another 100 quid to the price for these alone, maybe more.

complete? no but if you could afford all that, you know you've either got too much money in your pocket or you've finally hit the big time :-)
these parts are the dearest at this point in time but a few years down the line, i bet the new 'sort by price' list will be double what this is.
Thats a scary thought.
