Just found something worrying, only 1 gpu is being used! help please

Alright there, after many years of owning this card, iv had no real problems with fps, but playing battlefield 3 i thought id monitor ingame using msi afterburner how much my card is under stress etc,

And iv just noticed that in every game even heaven benchmark etc, only 1 core is being used??

you can see where gpu 2 has gone up in load as i opened 2 games to test it, and gpu 1 does nothing, and the tempurature of gpu 1 doesnt go up much only the heat from gpu 2 when its under load.

need help sharpish please

Have you got the latest CAP file from amd?

ill download it now, but im using 11.9 drivers, so surely even with things like heaven benchmark it should be using both cores?

I've never used xfire, but with NVIDIA SLI you do have to enable it in the driver control panel for it too work.

If you select that option the Crossfire logo will appear in the top right hand corner of the screen when Crossfire is working.

Crossfire only works in full screen mode so are are you running the benchmark full screen?

If you run it in a window then Crossfire won't work.

I'm not really that experience with these 2 in 1 cards but my guess would be one of them has either died or is not getting enough power.

Does the missing GPU come back if you run your i5 at stock?

hmm, i havent tried that mmj uk, ill give it a bash if i cant get it working, what i have noticed is that DX9 games, the 1st gpu fires up to full speed not 2d clocks, but its still not under load


Also in gpu-z on one core it says crossfire enabled (2gpus) then i click the other one and it says crossfire disabled? :S

Alright, got no idea why, but enabling catalyst AI to advanaced has given the idling gpu some usage, so gunna give it a few tests and see if its working fully now

Edit: HAH its fully working, iv never had catalyst AI enabled, Ever since i bought this card. what a noob i am! all sorted now, for the first time ever im using two gpus. need not for upgrading! haha
