just gave blood

well as title i gave blood today for the first time, i've only been 17 for a few months, wasn't bad at all, just got a little uncomfortable after having needle in ye for 6 or 7 mins.

anyway, just wondering how many of you give blood, and if yous do it often. i'll def give blood again when i can like.
 
I do, when I can. It's about once or twice a year with the time I spend hopping from county to county these days tho.

They really want my blood too, O+, I get bigger letters with more leaflets. My blood can be given to any rhesus positive blood group, however I can only Receive from O+ or O- :( (The best group to be is AB+, you can receive from any blood goup).

It would take ages for me to give a decent amount, last time I had a blood test it took ages to get a small amount out.
 
I'm up to about 14 donations. I'd quite like to do platelet donations, but I don't think I have the time, as my donation centre don't seem to be open at weekends
 
want to know my blood type, they said they'd post out some stuff in a few weeks and it'd be on it, think i'm A something

Yeah last time I had a blood test it took the doctor 4 tries to get the phial full. She said my veins kept collapsing and asked if I had drunk much fluid that day (which I had). Wouldn't this make it difficult to give blood?
 
Yes i give, and I need to make an appointment in the next week to give again. Think im up to 17 now :). Best way of giving to charity, its free!
 
i wont give blood, and will also not recieve blood, not for any fears or such, i just think hospitals are too full, and i dont blame the government, i blame people who go for little things, and those who fk themselves up and then waste resources!!!!... if i had fatal illness or whatever, id join the army and get my self killed by doing all the dangerous work

How does what you've said there have any relation to giving/taking blood? :confused:

Back on topic - I'd love to give blood, but I've had a major operation a while back and I hear you're not allowed to for a certain period of time *goes to google*.

Update: OMG, nobody who has recieved blood since 1980 can give blood?! Something about contaminated beef.... Looks like I'll never be giving blood then :(
