Well, i've been hooked on GRID for a while and decided i would treat myself to a ms wireless wheel. The trouble is - i'm now finding the game extremely difficult, and spin out on over half the corners. Is it simply a case of getting used to it? (i've tried about 10 races now).

Or should i dabble with the settings? Any help gratefully received. Thanks!

I hated the wheel when i first got mine i thought id made a mistake buying it but i persivered with it and now think its excellent thing to have.

I got one a couple of days ago, I can't play most realisic(ish) racers without a force feedback wheel these days because it feels like I'm missing part of the games.

I've only played the demo but I don't think that Grid is the best place to start with a wheel, there are still certain racers that are better suited to wheels such as Forza 2 and The Gotham series.

Dunno about the 360, but on the PS3 the force feedback default setting was way too high, totally hindering your ability to play. FFB is meant to be an advantage that gives you information about what the tyres are doing, not ripping your arms out of their sockets while you're trying to go round a corner.

Try turning it down a bit.

The wheel is hopeless in GRID, well it is for me at least, I think the controller is better, as you need to go lock to lock very quickly, the wheel is not so good for that, it's more for precision and control...

The MS Wheel, for the money is pretty good, I've had a few over the years, there are better wheels for more money, there are worse wheels for not much less..

perhaps try 0% steering deadzone, using that setting with forza2 helped me no end as i kept over correcting and spinning out.

thanks for the tips guys. I tried the wheel with PGR4 last night and it was much better...thing is, i actually am far more into grid at the moment, especially for the hectic online fun, so i'll persevere with it and see where i am in a few days.

It will take a little getting used too, but make sure you got it bolted to something(like a small cheap computer desk, that you can position easily in front of you). Youll have stronger arms from the constant adjustments you have to make while steering in no time :)

Me and some mates have been having tournaments on Grid with the wheel and its been awesome, it just feels great to slide side ways around corners at high speeds. Using a controller to make the game easier and less like driving is effectively cheating ;)

I couldnt get used to using the wheel in DiRT (which is very similar to GRiD) but in Forza2 and PGR it just takes getting used to. Definitely improves the experience in my opinion.
