The feature you're talking about, Intel Quick Sync, only works with certain software.
As far as I can see ConvertXtoDVD doesn't support it.

As above Intel Quick Sync doesn't work with convertx2dvd - so your cpu is solely used to encode the files whether you have a Z68 board or not.
Best set-up for convertx2dvd:
under settings > Video processing
Multicore processor: Max number of used core(s): 4
under settings > Encoding
Conversion priority: Higher
this will give you optimum speed without crippling your whole system and you will still be able to have convertx2dvd running away in the background whilst browsing.
