Hey all,
I've been working at Sainsburys since I was 17 (now 20) part time on the Meat and Fish counter. It started originally whilst I was at college to get some money, as you do, but when I left college they were unable to give me anymore hours and the last year has been the same 10 hours a week.
Well over the last 2 months I applied for a position at the Jobcentre Plus as a benefits delivery officer, full time. It's quite a long process, 3 stages, first the application which has some situation, multiple choice questions, then you have to sit a numeracy and literacy test then finally an interview. I did the interview last wednesday and today got a nice letter saying that I had got the job.
Bit nervous of course, full time employment after a year of part time (I did try and get more hours/apply for other jobs etc).
I start Monday the 24th April and am going into Sainsburys today to hand in my resignation, followed by a short dance in the middle of the store
Just wondering if anyone else works for the Department of Work and Pensions? Any advice etc
Thankyou!
