Just got a NAS, how do i connect diffrent computers and setup FTP

hey guys just got a NAS running and am liking it so far! but a few questions

1) how would i connect to download and upload files from diffrent PC's all running either XP vista and 7,

2) i have enabled FTP and forwarded its port how do i connect too it either internally or externally?

What kind of NAS box is it?

Normally you would mount file shares as a mapped drive in Windows.

You won't need to use FTP for this.

ah its a pluscom of the bay it runs SAMBA any guide on how to map drives? thanks

UPDATE:
i did this:

----my computer------right click-----add network drive------found drive named storage----asked for login for FREDDIE-pc/admin-----gave it defualt password----no luck---

Normally you would create the users (i.e. what you login in as on each computer) on the NAS, so it then matches. You can then set permissions by users or put them into groups.

right thanks for all the replys i have fixed it! i have mapped a drive under "//storage/freddie" is their any way of acessing lets say..."//storage/" so i can view ALL files on the drive?
