Ok this is my system as of today.

i5 2500k ( Not overclocked )
Asus sabertooth z67
Antec 900
SSD 125GB
8G DDR 3
980ti Sea Hawk

I did think about upgrading to 16GB DDR ram but apparently the max games use is 6GB So this can be left.

I was thinking about buying 250GB SSD as they are so cheap these days for gaming only and use my 125GB as the operating system only.

Should I watercool my i5 2500k and overclock it ? Will it help much.

I presume you meant Z77 Sabretooth? Yes, overclock the 2500k. You should get somewhere around 4.5Ghz out of it with a decent cooler. A good air cooler would do the job.

Do you have any kind of problems eg low FPS in games or is this just an upgrade itch you want to scratch?! Haha

Overclock the 2500k if you do want to do something, whack a good air cooler on or an AIO water cooler and it should clock quite well.

8GB of RAM is generally plenty, but there are a few titles which like to use more. Upgrading to 16GB may not be a bad idea if you can pick up some cheap RAM, but not essential.

The 2500K is still a very good CPU really, I only replaced mine with a 2700K because one came up for an excellent price. I would keep the 2500K and overclock it, and perhaps buy a 2600K/2700K/3770K if you see one for sale on-the-cheap, but I wouldn't actively hunt for one. :)

If you were to purchase another SSD you could leave your OS and programs on the 128GB, and then install games on the 250/256GB. I personally have a single 256GB SSD which has my OS, applications, and a few of my most used games installed. The rest of my games are on a... ... HARD DRIVE!

Cheers guys - I'm going to invest in a good water cooler for my i5 2500k , can you recommend a good one ? I'm kinda limited to where to stick the air fan as the Sea Hawk 980ti has taken up the two back air vents .....
