just got a new MBP 2.4 what version of windows would u recommend to run in boot camp?

oh i should say the main reason is for running games so i just need a version capable of that and pref cheap!

If you want to play games you want to do it through bootcamp. Bootcamp runs everything natively so it will play the games exactly as if they were on a Windows laptop.

You could also try CrossOver today seeing as it's free.

I've not tried it yet as I'm at work but I'll be giving it a go tonight. I'm currently running Vista Home Premium 64bit on my MBP for games and I've got no problems with it except the usual windows issues.

As for gaming, XP may show you a few extra FPS, but it almost seems stupid to pay that much for XP (assuming you're paying for it...) when Vista is virtually the same price. It's a far, far nicer OS to use, but then if you're not actually going to be using it that much, perhaps it makes no difference.

hey thanks for theheads up i tried it with halflife 2 on steam and it works a treat! thanks saves me buying windoze!
