Just got a PS3- Help/tips!

I just got a PS3 with Heavy Rain and Yakusa 4. I've got a few questions!

I want to install these disk games onto the HDD so the dvd noise isnt loud... how do I do that?

Can I play the PSP and PS1 games I bought for my vita?

How do i set the PS3 to download the games I've told it to download with the console off (if it can?)

How long does the controller take to charge?
 
You can't install games like you can the 360,the disk will still spin in certain areas even though most games have some kind of mandatory install.

No idea, but you should be able to.

I think you need Playstation + to download games while the console is off. The only thing you can do is tell it to turn off after downloading. (maybe?)

Never timed the controller charge time, I use a usb extension so I can play while charging.

Probably all inaccurate, don't use the ps3 much.
 
PS3's are usually quieter than 360's. I have both and installing is mandatory on the 360 due to the noise of the dvd drive fan :( However I don't have this problem on the PS3 so installing isn't always an issue. I do like to install to speed up load times. There's usually an install option in the game Options menu though not all games will have it.
 
If the game needs to install it'll tell you, there generally isn't an option and it'll still need to access the disc at times anyway.

Once you've got downloads in your download queue, you can go to the far left on the XMB menu, select turn off, then check the box to tell the system to turn off after it's downloaded/installed everything. Alternatively, get PS+ and it'll switch on at a pre-determined time and download/install stuff automatically.

Controller takes a couple of hours to charge I think.
