Just got a Samsung 930bf and MagicTune freezes the pc.

Hi folks,

I love this monitor over my old crt one but if I install the magictune software the pc just freezes after a minute or so. I am using win xp pro sp2, any ideas?

have you checked Samsung's site for latest ver of MagicTune? Might not be 100% necessary anyway, sure i read about some other issues with it before as well. You could always calibrate the screen using another tool like this monitor calibration wizard perhaps

here is my advice

I got a Samsung 770P ...what a monitor! mint!!

but the software is naff.

we installed all that Magic stuff, and nothing worked properly. Most surprising was that, and I think it was called MagicTune, occupied 250mb of hd space.

I deinstalled all of it.

Then setup the ATI driver to do the rotation using a hotkey, and also altered the gamma and colours here too.

No need to install naffy Samsung software.

job done.

I downloaded the latest version and it still freezes. Its no big deal as I can use the buttons on the monitor to set it up. This is my first tft monitor and im very impressed at the image quality over my old ctx 21inch crt (which died on me a few days ago), colours are vivid and text is much easier to see.

I got that monitor and love it! Never used the magictune thing just set it up throught the buttons.
