i use mine for surfing web while on the train
this aslo makes me look a cool cat

email. web and general running of my life i use it for, that what

I use it to read books / magazines

Check Email / Facebook / Twitter

Take it away with me to watch videos / music on planes & trains

And to play games with.

And of course general web browsing.

I put off buying on for 6 months as I was not sure weather I would use it.

But since getting one I use it every day amd have sold both my laptops

Use it every day as my main web browsing, IM and facebook device.

Also use it as my XBMC remote, controlling my HTPC in a way that is so easy and detailed.

gggrrr just got it home and updated itunes and reset PC now when i plug the ipad into the PC Itunes just freezes up and crashes. any one else had this?

It's pretty much replaced my laptop for the general e-mail, web browsing type stuff where you just want to pick something up and use it.

One thing I use which I didn't really before having an iPad is the YouTube app, it's really good for subscribing to channels, you can then just select them and watch new videos. Works really well.

Web surfing, emails, onlIne shopping.

Then film/tv/games when on trains, at work and the like.

The desktop computer, is rarely switched on.

My dad has one and it's great. I have my iPhone 4 so really I have no use for an iPad.

I don't get that, you might not deem it as cost effective. But screen size alone makes so much more useful than an iPhone. Although I fully understand the cost issue.

You think that, I used to as well, but I've had an IP4 since release and I bought myself an iPad 2 this weekend. And you know what, I already wouldn't want to be without it. The iPhone is great when you are out and about and need something small, but surfing the web, posting on forums, sending emails and reading books/newspapers etc is a much better experience on the iPad.

They might run the same OS, but they certainly aren't the same to use.

The only downside I can see is, I'm turning into an Apple geek without intending to. The only Apple product I don't have now is an Apple desktop system. Damn you Apple and your easy to use shiny things.

I was also of a similar opinion that an iPad was fairly useless if you already had an iPhone when the original was released, but I soon changed mine once I used one properly.

For me I use it extensively at home as a sofa browser, for email, social media and games etc. I've also started using it as a TV in my kitchen whilst I make the lunches and sort my breakfast :)

As a result, my iP4 or iMac doesn't get used that much for general day to day tasks now I have an iPad2.

Games, videos, web browsing, music, reading, etc...

Bought an iPad 2 about 5 weeks ago after my laptop was stolen and to be honest I don't miss my laptop in anyway, iPads are so easy, quick and portable and the battery lasts agessss!! I'm on it now actually :D

Great buy IMO, oh and you HAVE to jailbreak it ;)

This. And I love my iPad - best thing in a long time. I'm using it as I type this right now. ;)
