Hmm, it should work fine. I'm using my Be box just as a modem but when I first got it I used it in router mode hooked up to another switch just fine. Do you have another cable you can test with?

It's possible that the Bebox doesn't do auto sensing whereas your old router did, so it was automatically adjusting the port to be crossed over. If that does turn out to be the case you have the option of either:

1). Get a new crossover cable
2). Get an adapter that plugs on the end of the existing cable and wires that end up for crossover
3). Cut one of the ends off and re-crimp as crossed over

Sort of the same company. I decided to go with o2 instead.

Was getting 3.5mb-4.5mb with 100kb upload

Now getting 6.5mb-7mb with 500kb-900kb uploads.

Despite some of the super speeds found on here I am pleased with the jump expecially the uploads.

The BeBox's switch ports autosense and should work perfectly fine connected to another switch. Are you using one of the ports (IIRC port 4) that are disabled by default?
