Got my hands on a cheap old Rel quake 100e, and my god what a difference it makes to my current system, i dont really listen to a lot of music at home, but i do watch a lot movies and tv, and im amazed at the difference it can make, my initial system was based around 4 mission m73 floorstander which i thought would be sufficient for the thump in movies, but this has really opened my ears, even music has another dimension added to it.

But i do have a question about placement, is there a reccomended placement for subs, i am fairly happy with where it is now, i cant tell where the sub bass is coming from, but i just want to make sure i have done things right!

Good sub for the price, just don't expect anything great for blockbuster films, and watch for any distortion/excessive cone movement. Toy Story II intro is a good example. It sounds best on depth mode. I don't rate the Q100E that highly anymore :( You're right though about rest of the speakers, cannot compare against a good subwoofer. Make sure you read up on crossover settings- set 80hz for all speakers on your AV amplifier including subwoofer setting on the av amp, then ramp up the crossover on the subwoofer amp panel to maximum. That way it the signal isn't filtered.

Download the Rel manual, lots of info there.
