as the title states, ive had my notepad out noting down values as i go along, tinkering, and seem to have booted with 3.81 ghz overclock.been running for 15 mins now at 42, 47, 44, 45 .c degrees idle. well not idle, internet and stuff. going to restart now and note down all my settings and post them here, when ive done this can you help me to tweak them if they need it. for example if the voltages are a bit high for a 3.81 ghz oc or if some are low.

cheers.

very happy feel ive gotten somewhere finally haha.

You need to do some stress testing to confirm the overclock is stable and the temperatures are OK.

oh i know that and i will, but at least im getting somewhere, the system has never booted before over 3.5ghz.

specs: i7 950 @3.81 stock is 3.06 D0

heres the settings.

this look okay ?

core 1 43.c low 42.c high 45.c
core 2 44.c low 44.c high 52.c
core 3 39.c low 39.c high 48.c

just noting its been running for 30 mins now. temps are same if not lower. guna stress test soon. can anyone tell me if these settings are okay ? id rather not keep my cpu running at these voltages anylonger if theyre a tad too high :)

no i havent, but its been running for the past 3 weeks ahha not been turned off, its been encoding, downloading, rendering, cubase rendering, synthesis creation, gaming, browsing, doing alsorts. that is the most extreme in my eyes that it will ever be subject to.

temps seem good so far, FWIW im usuing a ud5

cpu voltage is 1.344v cpuz
200*21 4.2ghz
ram*10 2000mhz
ram volatge 1.66v
G skill trident 1600mhz 6-7-6-18 at 8-8-8-24
qpi at 1.5 circa volts
qpi link at 3600mhz

turbo and HT on

if you need more settings il screengrab

With a 950 you should really be aiming for 4Ghz with your hardware i have not seen one that cant 4ghz yet, you might need 1.33 on the vcore looking at your spec but your really need to stress your system at least once to see how stable it is. Im not a huge stress testing fan so on my i7 spare rig i folded for at 100% for 107 hours and called that stable ;)
On my gameing i7 rig i just used Intel Burn Test 15 pasess is does't take long.

*All cpu features off - turbo tech, C1E, C3, C6, C7, thermal monitor: No need at all to turn these off all o/c bundles come with these on and they 100s :)
*Performance enhance : turbo turn this to std it has no real benfit on turbo but can hiner the oc
