Just got my PS3

Got my PS3 on Thursday, must say it is very nice! I was a little apprehensive at first setting it all up and switching it on, but to my relief the "beep" noise i heard was not because the machine had broken. Instead it was the sign of hours of fun about to commence

! First thing i did was update the firmware (wow what an improvement)! Downloaded some demos, my favourite one at the moment is Drake's : Uncharted demo which will probably be the next game i buy! I've got F1 championship edition and Resistance. If anyone has these games or wants to play a demo etc. online add me: Meloco65

Other than that i am truly happy with the system it runs very quietly, even with a disc inside. The Playstation store is a little slow for me (but that's probably my connection). The customizing of themes is a welcome addition and copying files to the hdd, which was a feature i was not expecting!

P.s. Is the warhawk version available on the playstation store the full version??

Don't have either F1 or Resistance anymore unfortunately but your more than welcome to add me (Edz72) (currently playing GT5P & COD4 + others online)

Uncharted: Drakes is a must purchase IMO, really enjoyed it.

Is there anyway of getting the PS3 online through a laptop? My university blocks all games consoles, so was wondering if there is any way around it?

If they block ports 3658 UDP then your playstation experience will not a be a pleasurable one. (Problems connecting to RFOM games, slow PSN etc). A coupleof otehr games need other ports as well (Motorstorm specifically).

No way around it as the blocking is being done by your UNI, so even if you pass through your connection through a laptop won't help, sadly.

Recently just purchased a PS3 myself last week, I have been playing on FIFA 08 a lot, Having played every fifa practically since i can remember, 08 on PS3 is ten fold better than on PC. Feels like im playing FIFA 09 already with the difference, Highly recomend it if your into football games, hell even if your not.

Im an avid racer fan, and Gran Turismo is pretty much THE best racing game to date (Although test drive unlimited was a lot of fun) and was wondering if the Prologue was worth its weight in gold or i should wait for the full thing...

recently got my ps3 my gf brought it for xmas prsent nice bit of kit stuck on drake though can anyone help its when you have to turn the statues on the pedistals .

If that's the N S E W Compass part then look in your Journal (Press Select)

i did look in the journal i'm probably being completly dumb and probably thinking is more complecated than it actually is but seriously cant work out where there meant to face .

Look at the faces of the Statues in the Journal they have letters by them N S E W then when you climb up to rotate the statues there is a compass on the floor.

There is a picture of each statue in the journal with a indication of where they should face written next to it. Look on the ground inbetween the statues to see a large compass and position the statues to face the direction as indicated in the journal.

DAMN!!! Beaten to it - I really should learn to hit refresh before replying.

I'm thoroughly enjoying GT5P, so I would say go for it... it's not the full game, that's for sure, but there's plenty of cars and races to keep you entertained for a good while. You might want to search the official GT%P thread for Mr.Lattes link to a forum which gives you the menu translations etc though.
