Just got Saints Row

Just got Saints Row for my 360 and don't know why I waited so long before getting it - it's an amazing game.

Having so much fun playing it and it looks awesome in HD!

About 15% in at the moment and trying to do my first hitman missions.

The main problem I have is with money - I never seem to have more than $2,000 so have rubbish purple threads and mainly only the pistol because I can't afford better guns (only what I pick up off bodies).

Got a nice little collection of cars in my garage though, need a bigger pad - something big in the hills would be nice!

Best bit so far - I was being chased by 2 cop cars and drove full speed at some barriers - I made it thorugh and they both hit the barriers, all four cops came through the windscreens and flew down the road! Unfortunately it also happened to me when I was escorting the truck from the docks and I went over a cliff! :eek:

It's OK but I'm kind of lost as to what I'm supposed to be doing. I should get a strategy guide if there is one. Is there an order of missions that one needs to complete to advance the story along. I'm just going round down the blue activities all the time.

Yeah I did hear that Sloppy Seconds isn't that good to buy clothes at, people notice and you get less respect. Going to have to try and get some money and then visit Branded and the Jewelry shop to get some new clothes etc.

Just reading around I think I missed the point on the money thing. Where I take over these areas and it says amount earned each day etc - does this go to the money thing in my crib and do I have to go there to get it? As I have never gone to the crib to check it.

I completed all the missions a few days ago, I enjoyed it more than GTA as its not as big and you tend to stick to the missions.

Yes, it'll go to the safe in any of your cribs, although be sure to check it as often as you can, since the safe can only hold a maximum amount of money depending on how many areas you have, and once it's hit that amount, you won't be earning any of your money.

I recently just got this as well and I must say I am enjoying it.

I am about 13% of the way in doing some mission where I have to take out about 20 or so enemies to get up to a balcony to then take out a futher 20 enemies. (I died).

I also like the little touches that the graphics have. (little things like your car lights reflect off of everything and the shadows.

When you really look closely this is easily one of the best looking games on the console (and possibly the reason why it suffers slowdown in certain areas).

I'm very impressed with the graphics, this game in HD truly looks next generation. As you say it's the little touches that make it - I was driving an ambulance yesterday and the little square lights on the back at the top cast dynamic shadows as I drove behind buildings obscuring the Sun etc - very nice touch.

Indeed its all the little touches.

Have you had a play about with a rocket launcher yet?! That is briliant fun especially if you use it on convertibles as it sends the occupants flying on fire.

Only once...I think I got it as part of a mayhem mission or something, was pretty cool. I quite like the pistols, have become very accurate with them - the sniper rifle is good fun also.

Anyone know if you can get on the top of the tall buildings in downtown? That was a great part in GTA:SA when you could base jump from the skyscrapers.

I haven't played this as much as I should. Had some funny moments but the screen tearing really annoys me. I put V Sync on then the game rans really badly.

Maybe ill give it a good crack tonight, although I was planning on finishing GoW. Ill do both

Same. I seem to get tearing and low fps & Vsync helps but dosent improve the performance. ;(

Borrrow Money from loan sharks, do the Pimp missions (forget the name) and do the insurance fraud missions. These will build up money fairly fast.

Failing that get near one fo thos paint your car places (to lose wanted level). kill some police, then some FBI and some otehr people will come for you. they call have shotguns and M16's. Kill a few, nick their weapons, keep killing till *** helicopters arrive and then if you are good keep killing, if you are not then take the car into the paint place, have your wanted level reset and walk away like nothing has happened with loads of weapons!!!

p.s. the tearing is normal (much less than the demo had, but still apparent in the game). The game is so varied that the tearing didn't botehr me that much.

I primarily noticed it in cutscense and when I moved the view rapidly, whilst in a vehicle. To be fair its a while ago now since I played the game. i'm sure there was a ptch released for this game. I assume you have signed in online since playing and received the update(s)?
