Just got Stalker Clear sky

Hey i just got Stalker clear sky, and am installing it, i will deffently play it but i need to know if it is important to play the first one first?

Is it important to the story?

Because i hate playing a game like HL2 and then finding out HL1 is important story wise, i know its a different game but i hate jumping games

So should i play the first stalker first? or is it a whole different game like Farcry 1 and farcy 2?

Clear Sky is set before Chernobyl, but im finishing off Chernobyl first.

Clear Sky is set before SOC so in terms of storyline in a way it's good to play it first.

the graphics on this game arnt the best, but once i get into the story i bet i will love it

on my 4850 it dosn't run to smoth on hight settings and 1680 x1050

Got the first Stalker with my mobo, gonna give it a try when it's working, if I like it, I will likely purchase Clear Sky.

That's what you get, it's a bit of a joke really. I was forced to update half way through as the game became so unstable, ended up downloading new save games off the net.
Having now finished CS I can say that SoC is better by an absolute mile, so if you play CS first then you won't be disappointed with it.

Get STALKER SOC/CS on steam, no more update woes.
Clear Skies is fantastic. Take your time and play slowly. It's about 3 times harder than SOC.

i put in the first one and the gfx were awful so i uninstalled it within 5 minutes. Would rather play COD4 or crysis a second time than play with Resident Evil 1 style gfx.

Can't wait to play this game either. Because my current pc pretty much sucks for the newer games (Opteron 146 and 7800GTX

) I'd just stuck to COD2 and ignored everything that was coming out, to avoid depressinig myself lol.

I'd not even heard of Clear sky until the other day. Hopefully ordering the rest of the new components and get my new rig set up next week

You're doing something very wrong if it looks anywhere near like RE1.

are Clear sky and SOC Graphics the same?

I don't really care much for graphics as long as they are not super bad, i was just expecting some COD4 Graphics =]

This game is hard

and the it hardly ever AUTOSAVES GRRRRRRRRRR

There are plenty of mods for Shadow which make it look brilliant, FDR lighting, shadows, shaders and textures. Anyway the standard graphics aren't that bad.

While Crysis is pretty it plays totally differently to Stalker, I think Stalker can look better than Cod4 at times.

Isn't it only when you change area that it autosaves?
