Just got Superhub

just got superhub installed can anyone link me to any fourms or posts on here that explains which features are best to disable?

i remember something about ip flooding? whats that for

will disabling anything help increase the speeds at all?

basically speeds seem all over the place. hes been gone an hour and heres the 4 speeds done within those times while enginner was here and now in order

im suppose to be bummped up to the 60mb free upgrade sooner with this call out, the enginner said something about waiting upto 48hrs but i dono if i should just phone them to flick a switch ,

but looking at these speeds and also that its not even peak times im not looking optimistic about 60mb speeds

anyone got any advice incase im doing something wrong? i havent touched any router settings yet

Sort of in the same boat here, called up about my bill being over charged a couple of quid today, mentioned the new speeds to the lass and she has got me booked in for a superhub and 60 meg "install" next Wednesday.

All for free and 3 months ahead of my area's scheduled speed increase.

But in regards to the 48Hrs wait I'd just be patient then if no increase on the 49hr call them up.

speeds are still all over the place within 5 mins it can switch from 15mb to 30-35 and back again kinda strange , im kinda hopeing its got something to do with the ipflooding or other settings but i will wait till someone here responds with more knowledge before i go and change anything

I received the Superhub a couple of weeks ago, and haven't had to change any settings to get the 60MB. Virgin are notorious for throttling and having different speeds at various times, and the screens you've posted don't look too different to what I can get throughout the day*.

But yes, wait the 48 hours to see if it gets any better.

*On reflection, I will generally see better speeds than yours.

You should listen to what the engineer told you and wait 48 hours.

cant seem to refresh steam game server list , searched online someone said to disable ip flood which i did and still cant , on css if i leave the game for 5 mins around 200-300 servers only appear in total but they only appear after about 5 mins of nothing happening

Problem with a lot of routers is the steam list cannot be seen as the act of getting the servers makes the router think its an attack and shuts them down. I have had 3 like this, one, unfortunalty, is the superhub. The solution from virgin? Put it in modem mode and get your own router.

thanks for that , guess ill turn ip flooding back on since it makes no diff , im planning on mabe using my netbook eventully so might need the router part

wired , 1 min i could have 15mb try itfew mins later and 25ish speeds all over the place

edit : just tryed it there and it lost connection half way though the speedtest lol ;o tryed again and 18mb hmm atleast if anything im averaging nearly my old 20mb , gota be better then the 2-5mb i used to sometimes get on that thing ;p

edit: why does it keep losing connection during speedtest? only for that tho my net isnt going down , weird never used to happen with my old router / modem

would that mean im suppose to be on 60mb already? im only getting between 30-35mb in best circumstances when iv been testing in the last 24hr and lows of between 10-15mb

should i ring up and check if im on it? (im still within the 48hrs or the install mabe it will happen after 48hrs?)
