No idea why i got a call from a court, never been near Oldham

number is 0161240 5000

googling Oldham country court says its permanently closed

so could a scammer be using the number?

in saying that, it came as a "positive" rating
and detected it from the court

Yeah ... if they call you back demanding money or your bank details over the phone its a scam. Inland Revenue would have written to you if you owed them money. I take great pleasure in telling these parasites to go have sex with themselves.

I've seen a flurry of people over the last week reporting scam calls that spoof the numbers of county court offices.

Happened to me. Googled the number and it said Manchester Courts on the .gov website. Android flagged it as spam so all very strange

According to the local media Oldham county court closed down in 2017 and all cases were transferred to Tameside Magistrates’ Court.
