just had a scary moment

hi all, was just surfing the web as you do on the MBP, when all of a sudden it put itself into standby. figured i'd press a button to wake it up, after 5 seconds it turned off again, so i woke up it, and selected shut down, but it went to standby before it could shut down...

anyway, i pulled the battery out, removed the power lead, and reseated the battery, then turned it back on and it's now working fine. i'm gonna plug the power cable in again to see if that is causing the shut downs after i've written this.

I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen to them? i got extremely worried as i've got a lot of audio work for uni on here and didn't want it to vanish to the place all broken calculators go!

you say that, but i ran a disk check yesterday out of the blue and it came back everything was a-ok, but i will time machine it just to be on the safe side (damn, gotta buy another external HD now

You're meant to backup BEFORE something goes wrong, it doesn't work so well after the event. You've been lucky, at least you got a warning.

i've got a network setup with my pc, so i'll bam everything across onto my pc asap

but still, has anyone experienced this problem before?
