Only stalled once. Anyone who knows the area, i drove from Alsager past Rode Heath to Sandbach and then back to Alsager.

Instructor said she was impressed :D

Anybody had anything funny happen on their first lesson?

I first start with the AA. He showed me how to steer with a frisbee. I had driven cars before.

I later dumped the AA!

I spent my first 2 hour lesson going over the basics (albeit very briefly) and then moved into typical "lesson 2/3/4" stuff, and had everything covered after about 7 hours.

I just went over the basics and went for a small drive in my first lesson. I did have a lot of problems with clutch control because most of the time I was trying to pull away with just the clutch until I realised use of the noisy pedal was required :p

Great, kid! Don't get cocky!

My first formal lesson was a bit of a gas as I'd been driving with my parents for ages. However, loads of funny stuff happened over the course of my formal training: the instructor leaning over to press on the horn when she got annoyed with another drive, smacking me with a ruler for sexist comments, screaming at other road users...

I learnt in Cyprus, by the way. ;)

My first lesson consisted of steering figure 8s in a car park while the instructor operated the pedals, then how to start off and change gear etc, then was thrown in at the deep end and told to drive home through rush hour traffic...handled it well i think :)

For my first lesson I was picked up from school by the driving instructor. Being the first in my year, a crowd had gathered outside the house. I hit a curb when I reversed, then stalled :(. Everyone cheered ironically. Passed first time though so screw them :p.
