Someone on another board pointed out Synctoy earlier today and I thought I'd give it a whirl - the only Powertoy I ever used was TweakUI on XP before.

It is so handy! Means I no longer have to delete my USB2 drive then copy the contents of my M drive over weekly now, just resync up in Echo mode from left to right :D

It's been out a while but I'd never heard of it until today, perhaps someone else out there is like me too and can make use of it :).

SyncToy is a cool app. Found it a few months ago. I think a few OcUkers use it, but perhaps not that many more.

Have you tried the Sysinternals stuff as well? Some useful progs in there.

I love it. Especially as it's free.
I have it set to run daily. Copies any changes made to my work folder to another drive. That coupled with FTP backups means I don't have to worry about losing a project.

I've even added it to my 'Autorun' (using TweakUI) so when I plug in my USB stick, there's the option to 'Sync with SyncToy' :D (all it does is open Synctoy but hay!!)

Heh I got mine set to a custom button on the Logitech Keyboard =}

i use something similar called allway sync. i don't even use it to sync files though. i copy all my files manually and then use it to analyse my folders just to check i haven't missed anything. yes i'm a little odd..... :o

Lol, bizarre!

I've used both Synctoy and SyncBack but prefer the latter. The only reason I prefer it is that it deletes empty target directories while Synctoy annoyingly leaves them.

Yup, it runs on .NET so any Windows version that has .NET will work!

if you look in the help file for synctoy, it tells you how to run your job(s) from commandline, you could make a bat file that runs your backup job
