Hey, about half an hour ago I installed my shiny new RAM I ordered from here, the product I ordered was 4 x Corsair XMS2 2GB (1x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 Memory Module (CM2X2G6400C5B4) [CM2X2G6400C5B4]. Link.

The installation went fine, PC booted and whatnot, I decided to check to see if all 8GB was showing/being used and it's not. Windows shows that there's 8GB but only 7GB usable, some screenies of it below.

The OS is Windows 7 Professional x64.

I've been looking through Google and the usual places for help but there seems to be no good real reason for this problem, so I'm wondering if any of you know why/how it's doing it or to fix it.

Thanks :)

Not onboard, it's an nVidia 8600GT I had to resort too after my 4870 nearly blowing up. It says;

Total Available Graphics Memory: 3839 MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 512 MB
System Video Memory: 0 MB
Shared System Memory: 3327 MB
