Everything installed smoothly this time.

I thought I would update firmware and the fans are running great:)

I decided to use one fan for a few days and see what temps are like. Don't know if other fan is needed yet. Temps are just a few degrees lower then my fan cooler. So will see when gaming will load temps not go higher then 70c then I'll be happy. My older cooler would go 80c or a little above.

Fans mounted prefect this time. Only took me 30 mins to install too:D

Glad this one work good:)

And cheers for everyone that gave their input. It was very helpful:)

Now time for a beer:D

I'm buzzing for you, really. After all the let-downs it's good to see a happy ending. And I think i'm right in saying you'll love it for what it is - a mid range cooler with better than mid range performance. nice one ;):D:D

Can't wait to see how it handles that 3770 ;)

Me too:D

Thanks Ripshod:)

On quiet it's smooth and no whine at all, but on balanced or higher it's a little whiny. Hope better fw comes soon to fix that?

So far it runs very well and am happy with it so far.

My idle temps are 27c

I did do prime for a few mins and right off the bat it went to 60c to 63c , but didn't go higher. I wonder what temps would be like after 2 hours?

Can never compare an i7 with a thuban. I thought about running one fan at max and the other at min, but the airlow from the faster fan will spin up the slower one, so i can't see any i7s competing, unless they're seriously underclocked. i wanted to post this pic up on the corsair forum when peeps complained about not being able to slow their fans below 1700 - but thought better of it.

True that;)

I got my fans down to 600rpm and still 27c:D

tbh I didn't think the H80i would work this good. Like ripshod has said every setup is different. I'm getting good temps with just one fan. I might install the second and see how much lower they would go?

I put second fan on and temp only dropped 2c. both fans run good now. I also put a bottom intake case fan to help with pushing the hot air out the top, but tbh the second fan on the H80i isn't really needed. Temps were low even with one fan.

It's purring like a kitten:D

Now to clean up a little of the wiring :)

As you can see in my case I can fit a H100i, but thought to myself...why would I need a big ass cooler? I'm very happy now I bought the H80i instead of the H100i.

I have temps 25 to 28c now, so the H100i would've been overkill really. I'm never going to OC more then 4.2 to 4.5 so for me I see no reason. Others might feel different.

Yeah the wires are a little bit of a pain, but you'll find ways of hiding them:)

@ RetrogamerX - what setting did you have your h80 @ to get those temps?

I just used fans at performance and it's been pretty stable at 60c

Cheers :) Couple more questions though :D

@Snakefood and RetrogamerX
Are you using 1 or 2 fans and any idea what rpm range the performance setting uses? Or does it auto adjust according to temps?

I used 1 fan all day yesterday and tbh having 2 fans doesn't make that much difference. with 2 fans it only went down 1c to 2c lower with both fans.

I'm thinking about going back to 1 fan really.

Antec 902 with the standard 8" at top.
mmm, I gotta get in and evict the spiders, so i may bench as exhaust as a comparison. Gonna get me in trouble with the missus ;)

Someone said the temps aren't really life changing. 1c to 2c. I see a patten here. No matter what you do the temps aren't that much different.

Hi I recently installed my h80i in my zalman z9 plus case and need advice on how I can hide the wires they are a nuisense.

can you give me any advice or show me a pic of ur system

My PC has changed since then. The only thing I can say is you really have to tuck the top wires away, It's not hard as long as you have some holes to the back of the case. I hide them in there.
