Hi. wondering if any one can help, i have a good rig, core 2 duo. x1950xt 512. 2 gig of ram. runnin on windows xp. o put all settings on high and it runs awfullll. scrolling is dread full. menus sluggish. any ideas? im sure it performed better on my 3yr old rig.

Not that I know, I think I'm patched up yet it's a complete lag especially in big cities, although that maybe due to the fact I have 4 gb of plugins, but still, it often grinds to a halt and often have to give it 10 secs to load the buldings etc after scrolling, although it's only a single time mostly, once I go away and come back to the place it just loaded it's instant if it had enough ram, iirc people recommended me 4gb of RAM for it if you want it to keep everything loaded after loading stuff the first time.

iirc it doesn't identify recent ATi cards properly. There's some manual config editing you can do to get it running better. Used to drop down to <5fps on my X1800.

Oh wait, 5 fps? I thought u guys meant the loading of the buildings after u scrolled to em ? Fps seem stable on my 6800GS. It's the loading of all the buildings that I considered lag.

They were bought by EA in 1997, 6 years before SimCity 4 was released. I'm sure it's no coincidence that the quality of the Sim series of games declined after the takeover.

Uhm? Sim city 4 was the best sim city ever, finally a proper sim instead of an arcadey like game. ( imo offcourse). The only bad quality sc game was SCS, but that's because it wasn't develloped by maxis.
