And bought a Xbox 360 :D

Been a pc nut for years, never really had a console. But ive been wanting to give it a try.

I got the premuim one. The guy at the shop said it was better than the core. I got Gears of war with it. And i bought GRAW 1 for £9.99

Anyway, ive plugged it into my Samsung 226bw monitor ( with a VGA HD cable ) and i want to set it up HD. Now my monitor has lots of options for HD modes. With 720p being the one to go for it seems.

Anyway, in my 360's settings.. I see no option for "720p".. But its set to 1360 x 768, in widescreen.. Is this right ?

Also whats the best games :cool: Gonna sort out Xbox live next week.
 
Sounds like you're running with a VGA cable instead of the component cable. The component gives options for 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p whereas the VGA just gives you a big list of the available resolutions. That res should be fine.

If you like racers then Forza 2 is a must!
Crackdown is a hell of a laugh, especially with a mate on co-op mode over Live.

Don't get too many games or they'll all be cast aside when you get Halo 3 in 3 and a 1/2 weeks :D

try to get it as close to optimal res for your monitor, thats probably the best you'll get. Also check out the new VGA enhancement options in the systems menu.

Best games for me are:

Bioshock
Guitar Hero 2
Saints Row
The Darkness

Best thing to do is check out some demos when you get live sorted. Download the Skate demo especially, its fantastic :)
 
Good choice, I used to swear by gaming on my PC. But then I decided to take the plunge and get a 360 as all my mates had them and used live. So I bought the premium with Gears of war and Crackdown and I have not looked back since. I run my own clan on the 360 as well.

If you like shooting games Graw 2 is great same with Gears of war.
For racing Forza 2 is supposed to be good, I have it but don't play it. Dirt is a really good game you will enjoy it if you like racing games.
Bioshock is a really good game for a FPS I highly recommend it.

Make sure you get some microsoft point and a 12 month xbox live subscription. So you can enjoy the market place although in the UK it's not as big as in the US but it will be soon. And get a 12 month xbox live subscription to play Gears of war online and a lot of other games.

Good man, I was a PC gamer before I switched too. Never regretted the move either. Played more games on this console then I ever could on the PC.

Do you need a Xbox router to use live ? As i have a old netgear one here from when my dad had his laptop for the wireless. Could i connect my xbox to the router and should it be fine and dandy ? I hope so :p
