Just looking over the UK driving regs...

I think the police would just assume you were telling porkies and you'd get done for having your headlights off as they wouldn't be visible.

this thread (somehow) reminds me of a story i read in todays telegraph, about a bloke in his 70's who waved to a teenage car driver and his girlfriend that he had lights turned off. the lovely couple got out of the car and beat the old man so bad that his face was not recognisable.

apparently it's a current gang trend, where youths drive with their lights off and have to beat whoever notifies them to a pulp. beware.

I read that that happens a lot in Syria or somewhere.

this was in GB. i remember reading a snopes style rumour of it about 4 yrs ago but it supposedly does happen. horrible people. the fact the girl was heavily involved made it even worse. the old bloke is lucky to be alive.

Lamps will need to meet EU/BS standards which lamps not in the visible spectrum would fail. That's specified in the Vehicle Lighting Regs.

Pretty sure it would just come under dangerous driving.

Internet myth. So many times I have read this, different towns, sometimes they follow a while, sometimes not. Not yet seen any actual reports of it happening.

Personally I think if you were caught driving along in night vision goggles, you would be on the wrong end of a psychiatric evaluation.
