Just made a snap decision on a phone, any advice?

Hey guys,

I was in need of a new mobile and as such I've just picked up the Poco X3 Pro 8gb ram/256gb storage for £200. I'm not seeing anything else in the prince range worth getting, but as the phone is due to be delivered Tuesday I've time to change the order.

I want something snappy and responsive, camera isn't a deal breaker as long as it's decent. The phone will be used for light gaming and a little emulation while traveling, but otherwise as a general web surfer and media player/ebook reader on the move.

Any suggestions or should I stick with it?

Stick with it. The X3 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 860 which is a very strong chip and will easily handle gaming and emulation fine. To give you a general idea, I have a OP7T Pro with the SD 855+, the SD 860 being a slightly overclocked version of that, and it can run Dolphin emulator without much issue.

Cheers for the info.

I had a feeling it'd be the best bang for my buck, I was also looking at the Note 10 Pro, but that seems to trade performance for camera and screen quality (among other things) while still being £30-40 more expensive. Regardless, it seems they've sent my phone out early and it's due to be delivered in an hour, so it's a good job I didn't change my mind!

It was a good choice, but I'd be a bit miffed if I bought a £200 phone and it was £180 the next day. You might be able to get the reduced price through Amazon live chat but no guarantees.

Is it the 8GB RAM/256GB storage that's £180 or the 6GB RAM/128GB storage? The latter was £180 when I bought mine but I opted for the higher spec for the sake of £20. I just checked the specific store page on Amazon and it's the same price as when I bought it so I'm assuming he picked up the other version.

@Naitachal I'm really happy with mine for the amount I paid. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the way it looks, but given the case I've ordered that hardly matters really.

It was the 8GB RAM/256GB storage that was £180 (proof), but it's gone up in price now that prime day is finished.

Naughty on behalf of Amazon tbh.

Cheers for that, I'll see if I have any luck with their customer support. It looks like it was for the black version only though and I picked up the bronze, although I wasn't fussed about the colour on my end.

Why is it? It was a Prime Day lightning deal. Same as I got my TicWatch Pro 3 GPS for £195, an hour before it went back to £290

It was on a lightning deal down from £250 when I bought it, they had another lightning deal with a greater reduction on the exact same thing within the space of a few hours. It was even the same store page, it was just specifically for the black model (which was £200 when I purchased).

They probably watched how many were selling and bettered the deal.
Always best to watch that deal, see how many have been claimed and buy as late as possible.

I'll make more of an attempt to do that in the future.

The phone is fantastic mind you, I just find the way Amazon do things to be a bit of a PITA at times.

The worst is their search engine, it infuriates me.
You look for a Poco X3 Pro 8gb but still see loads of other makes/models and no matter what you do it won't stop it.

It's a nightmare when you're looking for certain things, you almost always get dodgy results that look like borderline scams for knock off versions, or just flat out unrelated crap.

It wasn't a lightning deal, it was just a regular prime day deal. On the first prime day it was reduced to £200, and on the 2nd prime day it was reduced to £180. I'd agree that was a bit naughty of them, it should have either been £180 from the first prime day or £200 both days.

I could have swore it was a lightning deal.

Must be the heat getting to me, still going from a prime day sale to a prime day lightning sale is iffy imo.
