I've been given an ipod that I'm going to use for running. I've installed the latest pc version of Itunes and transferred loads of song on, I had to ctrl-c and ctrl-v as dragging and dropping didn't work and then went for a run. I then realised itunes had made a hash of categorising my songs so I've gone back into Itunes to rename my songs but it wont let me. I'm pretty sure last time I just rmc the song, clicked get info and changed the details in there but now it's all greyed out. Has Apple locked this feature out ? :(

Ah yes, what we have here is a classic case of you're doing it wrong.

:p

Closely followed by the developer's favourite phrase "It works on my machine" (in a tone that means - I ain't fixing it or it will insult my overblown guru self belief in oneself).

Bit extreme just to get an iPod working though. Was it the PC version just being rubbish?

It looks that way. :(

I was also going to use the ipod in my car as the previous owner bought the car from Audi with an ipod/iphone dock in the glove box. I think now I'll just buy a 4gb SD card and use that in the sat nav system instead. Drag and drop is so much easier. - Take note Apple !!

Hmm - I assume that the iPod has been formatted for Windows? Also, you've selected manually manage music?
