just making sure my CPU is not dead..

If my CPU had died on me then i would hear some bleeps on powering up my computer wouldn't i?

You see my computer started to randomly freeze and then got worse and worse, then it stopped booting up fully and switching itself off, the boot up time got less and less until it would not even boot to POST screen or BIOS before switching itself off.

Now it just powers itself off as soon as i power it up.

So i am just making sure my MoBo has died on me and not my CPU before i put an order in tonight for a new MoBo, GFX card and PSU.

Thanks for your help and advice upon this matter.

P.S. i took the PSU out which i thought may of been faulty but it works in an old rig. So it must be CPU or MoBo?

Tis more likely to be the motherboard, but there is a possiblity that the CPU has died in a way that would cause this problem.
