All over.
Hey there, just moved to NTL. Got it for my student house. I had an appointment booked in for Saturday just gone. I haven't actually moved in yet but one of my hosuemates was in, and he knew that they were going to come. They didn't end up coming which is annoying, or my mate was unavailable. I've called up NTL and booked in for next Thursday.

Anyway, what I'm wondering is, for those who are on NTL, what to they do when they come in. I'm told that they install a cable modem. But the previous residents left their cable modem behind (they had 1MBit NTL), and all the router and wiring and such. I'm assuming the house is connected up to the internet. Will I be able to connect to NTL with the current modem, before the NTL people arrive?

Maybe, maybe not. It's likely that the original customer would've cancelled/transferred their service in which case the MAC address for that modem will have been removed from any NTL user account. This means that the modem might sync up but it won't do anything as it needs to be registered to an account. Or it might work fine - only way to find out is to try it.

If it's anything other than an ntl:250 modem (small blue thing) then make sure you hide it when the NTL engineer comes out so that they do give you a brand new 250. The older Terrayon, ntl:100, 120 and 200 modems are crap, to be honest.
