I've only played Deus Ex Human Revolution and WoW so far, and I don't think they're the most demanding games, but I've got everything on maximum and they run perfectly.

I only put the extra 4GB in because I had it spare from when I upgraded my XPS from 4GB to 8GB. Since the M17 has 4 slots I thought I might as well chuck it in.
 
Currently 2 x 4GB DDR3 it can be had for a very decent price. I got 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 for just under £40 about a month ago and it's dropped a little more since then.
