As per the title I decided to grab a 6970 to see if t gives the eyefinity a boost with the added vram.
Just had a think about my PSU.
It's a Seasonic 600W with twin 12v rails - 18A per rail - 423W combimed. Also only has 2 6 pin graphics card connectors so I'm going to need to use the molex to 8 pin adapter.
Have a feeling that I might be pushing it with this PSU.
Any thoughts?

I usually always go abit over what i'd need, but i ain't too sure. To be safe though, i'd go for a more powerful psu, which will also be useful in future too, and also have the correct connectors, not needing to use the molex adapters. :)

Something like this? Non-modular, but good value + brand :)

i guess the rest of your rig is per your sig?

should be fine i'd imagine for a single 6970 :) wouldnt fancy crossfire without an upgrade though :)

I was kinda hoping that I could make do with the PSU I have but if I need to upgrade it makes sense to order today with the discount and before the VAT rise.
Had my eye on the Corsair 850 or 950 with a view to a bit of future xfire action (with a full system upgrade first obviously)

I ran 2 X 4870 on my Corsair 620 for two years and no problem. Now running a 5970. I think all of these cards use more power than a 6970 so you should be fine mate.
