I think will be here on tuesday now left it a bit late.

Can someone tell me how TR Legend is running on this card. Does it suffer from the stuttering problem with next gen on?

I will be upgrading from a XFX 6600GT, and i have been running games @ 1024x768. I think now ill be playing @ 1280x768 on 17" WS monitor

I also went for a the OCUK one, it was between that or an XFX one. I was going to buy an XFX XT Edition from a local PC shop but they didnt have any in stock. So the OCUK one it is. Surely gonna clock to the same level anyway.

:D

Edit: what drivers come on the CD?

Nah the patch removes a nipple texture pretty sure thats all it does.

I have ran it on my 6600GT and its not that bad with some beta drivers with a TRL Profile

Is your sig up to date Cyber Mav? Just if you dont have first hand experience?

Hi mate. the patch certainly boosted my frame rate in TRL, but make sure you upgrade the drivers to at least 84.43 as this adds TRL to the profiles page and seemed to boost my frame rate again. If you're gonna be running at that res then you shouldn't have much of a problem. I was running in SLi with a pair of faulty Inno3d gt's but playing in widescreen at 1680x1050. There was a bit of slow down occasionally but it looked stunning. you shouldn't have any real problems with it, trust me. Its a great looking game, great fun to play too, if a bit short!

I know i have 96% completion on it, but would prefer to do time trials etc with next gen, also would like to play BF2, Fear and other games at higher res

yeah next gen cripples my 6800gt's in sli (18-20fps), you need a 512mb card for next gen,, looks great on max settings with next gen off though and plays ultra smooth :)

no i don't have the 7900gt friend has one and when i went round his yard to see the game running it was quite slow and jerking badly. he had all the options enabled and running game at 1900x1200. probably at lower rez it could have been better,

Hell yeah! on a single GT it would struggle at that res everything on!! specially if he had vsync on too! its fine at med res everything on on one card tho.

Well, it arrived today :D Not a bad card. Its an XFX model which i wanted.

tried a few games TRL runs well maxed with Next Gen Did stutter but went after a min.

BF2 No different to my 6600GT, need to change the res though. Only 1024x768 highest available. Same for Need for Speed MW and FEAR. will have to edit resolutions,

Ran coolbits reg and then detect optimal frequencies.
It gave me:

590 Core
790 Memory

Sure abit of tweaking can get me higher.Dont think ill 1.4V Mod it yet

Idle temps are around 43 with stock cooler. Not exactly loud either. Will have to get my Reserator VGA Block on though. Maybe tomorrow.

Havent checked load temps.

3D Mark 05 and 06:

Spec is

AMD X2 4400+ @ 2640 (240 x 11)
Asus A8N SLi Premium
OCZ Plats PC4000 @ 2.5-3-2-5
74gb Raptor
500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.9
XFX 7900GT 590/1590
Hiper Type R 580W
3x Pio 111BK

05 = 10,048
06 = 6,241

How do they compare? any good?

BTW not a clean install, might get round to that at the weekend

Yep very good indeed. In 05 that's almost exactly what I got at full stretch before I did a volt mod. No idea what i got at 06, but nowhere near that high.....shortcomings of a single core processor.

@ man from uncle, before you did a volt mod? have you decreased the clock then? was it just to bench? as you have them at 550. or is this because you have them in sli so need to run them that high

@no 1 dave, i will try pushing it a little more before i do it. Is it ati tool that checks for artifacts? with my 6600gt i just pushed to to 600/1200 and it was fine, left it at that because it was a nice round number. So have only used coolbits. But i will need easy testing to get the most out of this card.

I used ATI tool to find the highest overclock. It has the artifact scanner. Then I used Coolbit to set the clock. Also, I took about 20Mhz off the core & memory after I found there max, just to be sure. I wouldnt want to bugger it up by running it at its max overclock all the time ;)

Well the history is that up until yesterday I had only a single 7900gt. I volt modded it up to 1.55v and got 680/1666 gaming stable (got to 705/1800 benching stable, but I don’t think that’s healthy for the memory). Since then I’ve added another card which I haven’t had the chance to mod yet, so I’m running the pair at the speed of the slower, which is 550/1600. I’ll volt mod the other too at some point and look to run them both at gtx speeds at least.
