Hi all

Finally taken the plunge and ordered an ACER Iconia Tab W500
AMD 1GHz C-Series Processor C-50
HD CrystalBrite 10.1" TFT LCD Display
LED Backlight & 1280 x 800 Resolution
DDR3 2GB Memory & mSATA SSD 32GB Storage
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit OS
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n & Bluetooth Enabled
HDMI, RJ-45 LAN & Dual USB 2.0 Ports
Dual Acer Crystal Eye WebCams
AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics

Managed to get it off another website whilst doing a price search in google.

Cost me £445 with VAT and Delivery.

I didn't fancy getting an Android Tablet so stuck with a Windows tablet instead.

Looking at reviews it can handle such games like Half-life 2, Diablo and Civilization with no probs at all. Not sure if its quite capable of running Crysis 2 but hey its a tablet i got a desktop for that.

Will let you know what its like when it arrives.

It's a bit laggy for web browsing when using multi touch gestures, which puts a lot of people off, but the compatibility is just awesome. Working usb ports etc makes it a win, but It's a shame It's not faster. You can pick it up in high street stores for that price so I would suggest going in to play with it if anyone else is considering it.

hi all

this tablet is brilliant, quick to load plays hd video's without stuttering, internet loads up quick.

touch screen is a bit sensitive and its strange typing on an on screen keyboard but im sure i will get used to it.

Using balanced power scheme been using it for about an hour now and still got 4 hours battery left.

just got to get used to holding it will have to see if i can get a grip for it.

i would recommend this to anyone.

I decided on getting the Asus Transformer :) buts its an Android Honeycomb/3.0 tablet, arrives tuesday :).

What games have you managed to play with your tablet? as its got a decent gpu chip for a portable device as well as the processor and ram?

Thanks

ive just got flatout ultimate carnage only thing is im unable to play it via touchscreen so will have to try my usb gamepad. the graphics look crisp and clear for a tablet. I will have to look to see what touch screen games i can get for windows. other than that everything else works fine.

Get the angry birds game for windows :) thats mouse/touch screen i think :D

I had a look at this last night in a high street shop and was very tempted. Main advantage as said is everything works as you expect. I want one for use with my camera RAW files so the idea of potentially being able to use proper image software is great.
Reckon it would probably run Lightroom - bit cramped maybe?!
Presumably the USB port would work with an external card reader too?

Didn't find the interface too bad either, even the standard Windows bits.Small, but not unusable.
