I had been looking around for a good card to upgrade from my ageing, but faithful, 8800GT. I wanted something to last me 6-12 months of playing new demanding games, BF3, Skyrim, the usual suspects. Then possibly upgrade to the 7xxx series, or whatever Nvidia have to offer.

Came across a OCUK 560ti for £119.99 inc. in the clearance section (**B Grade** OcUK GeForce GTX 560Ti 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **Supplied with FREE Batman: Arkham City PC game**). Selling for £163.99 normally.

Seemed a pretty good deal so I went for it. Was it a good spot, or am I missing something?

Never got anything from the clearance section before. What should I expect to be wrong with it? Battered box, missing CD, etc? But it's still a brand new card right? Are there any changes to manufacturers warranty?

If I recall correctly, B Grade would probably mean you'd get the card, but with the chance of having one more accessories parts or even everthing else missing. It might not even arrive in a retail box but in a brown box, and B Grade items only has 3 months warranty. Also, I don't think you will be getting the Batman game neither, but you could try asking the OcUK representative to see if they would give you the code anyway.

...with that said, £119.99 is still a cracking price for a GTX560Ti, even it is OEM with 3 months warranty, if it works properly that is.

Pre-Sales FAQ

What does "B-Grade" mean?
B-Grade items are manufacturer's repairs or items we are unable to sell as new, they may be subject to packaging damage or may be a brown box product. All B-Grade items come with a 90 day warranty and may be missing items such as driver CD's and cables. Unfortunately we are unable to provide you with the reason why this is B-Grade as each B-Grade item is different.

It's a good price, anything wrong with it you've got 90 days to send it back

the 3month warranty is with overclockers, wouldn't the manufacturer still cover the card on the remaining time left since the card was made?

Or would they require proof of purchase?

And I would always worry why someone returned the card in the first place.
Perhaps that's just me.

Are all B Grade stuff returns? I thought it was end of line, and items that may have parts missing from manufacturers or open box. Else surely it would be refurbished?

I don't see how OcUK can offer a 3 month warranty? I thought 1 year was the legal minimum?

I thought this too. But also thought the manufacturer warranty of 2 years (for this card) was still in affect too.

They are not selling the product as brand new, so don't think it applies.

I've successfully used the SOGA to have REFURBISHED items replaced free of charge.

Sale of Goods act applies on refurbished items, and, judging by my quick 10 minute Google, applies to B-Grade stock too.

In other words, OcUK would likely replace/repair if notified that you were claiming under the SOGA and not claiming under their warranty.

On a side note, I ordered the card at 4.20pm Tuesday with TX next day delivery. Should I expect it to arrive Wednesday? Or was I too late in the day. Just gotta make sure someone's in is all!

I should imagine 4:20pm is a bit late in the day for them to dispatch it, although I'm not 100% sure on OcUKs cut off time? I'd have thought it will more than likely be Thursday, but hey, don't quote me on that! ;)

If it had been sent out you'd have had an e-mail saying so.

I assume you haven't so it looks like it'll be delivery on Thursday.

Apparently 4.30pm is the cut off for next day delivery. Ordered it at 4.20 lol, so probably should have got it today.. But at the very least got a dispatch notice today. Left a message with CS in the forums. See if there is a problem. I hope not! I really want to get my hands on the card now. Not had a nice upgrade in ages!

You won't be disappointed with the card, great bang for the price, i paid £130 for my Twin Frozr II, love it, now though after a few weeks of it, i want more performance, so looking at the 580 now.
