Just ordered a new Bicycle.

I've had my current one for about 2 years now, Although I haven't taken care of it. It's starting to look a bit scraped and tatty. So I thought it was time for a new one.

I currently have a hard tail(front suspention only) Dawes Element

yes upset me, I havn't paid for it yet, i've only reserved it online form Halfords so far.

yep agree with that, or better still search the secondhand pages in your local paper for a 2nd hand one
my 15 year old marin still gets £150 or more second hand on the bay

Are you all looking at the £140 price tag and think it must be crud for that price?

The bike is on a 50% sale for halfords and I get an extra 10% of this week only.

So that's 60% off in total

was £314.49
Now with all discounts £139.49


Well I'm looking at spending £250 max as I only use it to get to work and back(work is only a 10min cycle so waste of money using a car)
My Dawes only cost me £200 2 years ago.

Depends what you're going to use it for really. If you're just gonna be doing general riding about town and parks etc it'll be fine. If you're wanting to do some proper mountain biking on trails or anything though I wouldn't expect it to last long with the quality of the components.

it depends if you show it some mud, it will fall to bits if you ride it on the road, then why buy a mountain bike.

Actually looking at the bike again, THe frame is 3" smaller than my dawes and the saddle is closer to the handle bars which could be a problem.

Looks like i'll have to keep looking lol.

I need to find an online store with a good deal and free/cheap assembly.
or a store in the south side of Glasgow.

if you want a decent bike you have to spend decent money, if your max budget is 250 have a look around for some cheap Kona's, to me there best bikes you can buy
