I've just ordered a PS3 after much contemplation between that or a Xbox 360; but decided for the PS3; I have a few questions though, if you don't mind answering :)

I'm going to be playing it on my Hyundai W240D http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-056-HY&groupid=703&catid=17&subcat=

Does anyone play it on this monitor? What's it like? I read something about 1:1 Pixel Mapping which prevents stretching; is this monitor equipped with that?

My second question is regarding the speakers. I have the Logitech 5.1 X-540 and am eager to use this for sound on my PS3. How would I go about doing this? I don't have the Game Adapter that's supposed to come with it though.

As a last resort I could use the monitor's speakers but am unaware of it's quality, so if anyone has used the speakers on the Hyundai; what are they like?

Many thanks in advance!

I have the Hyundai W240D and it does support 1:1 Pixel mapping :)

Although I havent used it myself over HDMI, I have the 1:1 Pixel mapping on the DVI connection to the computer and the image is the sharpest Ive ever seen on a monitor, runs games stunning :D

Great monitor, as for the speakers, they are pretty average, they are okay, but obviously trying to connect your sound system would give you a lot better sound! :P

Matt.

It has 1.1 pixel mapping, I would use your X-540's for the sound to be honest. Its quite easy to do, if the gaming adapator is just a composite to 3.5mm jack then most high street electrical retailers stock them and they cost a few pounds at most. The X-540s use a matrix system so it makes a stereo signal sound like a 5.1, although not as good as true 5.1 it will sound better than through the monitor. Connection wise use the HDMI for the video and the supplied A/V lead for audio in the settings on the XMB goto sound settings and select the A/V cable, the HDMI will be sensed on switch on for the video. Hope it helps you :)

Many thanks for all your replies guys! So I would put the three 3.5mm cables into a converter and then plug the other end of the converter into the back of the PS3?

Where can I buy this converter online? Or what's it called?

As far as i know its just a 1x3.5mm to two composite inputs, the speakers then can be put into matrix mode (or maybe its auto?). Think its available to get from an electronic component high street shop that sell Pc stuff so i cant post, also some of the larger suoer markets sell them.

What do I need the converter to convert the 3.5mm into? Am I right in thinking I need a 3.5mm to RCA?

I have also realised that my monitor has the Component Inputs with audio, so would I have the choice of putting the RCA into the PS3 or the Monitor?
