I've ordered a rat 3 gamer mouse as I can't really afford the rat 5, I saw a review on it on youtube not so long ago.

I figure rat 3 is quite similar to rat 5, just that rat 5 has the weights and is slightly more configurable..

Anyway, I read some feedback on the mouse at a well know online retailer. and a lot of people we'ren't happy with it.

I don't play a lot of video games. I played baddlefield bad company 2 campaign mode a few times, and played GTA4 deathmatch mode a lot, and was conviced I needed a better mouse because I kept hitting off target and getting beaten to the bullet.

But.. I don't really play games all that much, my day involved me surfing the web a lot, and I do a bit of photo shop, so I thought a gaming mouse would be very good for accuracy..

Well apparantly not, some reviewers on the other sit were saying that the mousy is good for gaming but horrible for day to day use, as it's near impossible to draw a smooth line by hand in photoshop.

This is a bit strange to me, because I thought if it's highly accurate in a game then it must be highly accurate in windows mode too. Surely..

Think of swapping the mouse for something else in a similar price plan £30.. Before they ship it over tomorrow.. Any thoughts of good mouse for a bit of gaming, but mainly for web authoring and photoshop

I bought a RAT 3. It was a good mouse for tracking and stuff, but the feet on the mouse glided very poorly across my cloth mousemat, so i'm back on my Deathadder.

So do you still use the rat 3 for gaming or is it just collecting dust?

Hows the feet on wood? [rather cheap pine coated mdf] I dont really use a mousemat.

Ok received the mouse.. Looks kinda geeky, would have been happier with a smooth and sleep mouse that's nice to hold than this thing that looks like it's fallen off a space ship.

I;m comparing this to an aging ps/2 infra red mouse so my thoughts may be a bit off here.

I found the mouse to be highly accurate, I was having jerking issues with my old infra red mouse, which wasn't really designed to 1920x1080 screens (probably more likely for 800x640 screens).. SO in order to get the mpuse to work on HD I had to set the senstivity up really high which caused jerking isues.

The aser mouse is really smooth. I've used it mainly for deslktop applications, although I'm sure FPS games would be a much bigger improvements, although I ave;t really played games with it yet.
