..with a CPL and 10 stop ND grad. Woohoo.

Quick question, I know that Sigma's QC can be a bit iffy, but I am only 6 months into starting propoer photography so I don't know EXACTLY what I am looking for.

Does anyone know of a site which has pictures from the lens of how it should be, to compare?

Thanks

Take some pictures. If your happy with them, carry on and be happy. If your not happy with the image quality, post some up and we should be able to tell you why the image quality isn't as good as you had hoped. If it is due to the lens being 'soft' then you can send it back to Sigma to have it recalibrated. In other words, don't go out of your way to see if its soft or not. Just my 2p. :)

You lucky lucky lucky luck ******* :p

I'm so jealous.

As MK says, if you're happy with the IQ then don't worry about it. There's a guy on TP who has one and because of all the hype he is convinced he's got a lemon. However, he posted some sample images and there's nothing wrong at all, just paranoia due to excessive rumour.

Enjoy yourself, I'm going to sulk.

:D

Nice purchase,

As mentioned previously just go out and enjoy taking photos with it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A few tips for you:

1. When out shooting try to avoid focusing near infinity, as typically this will result in a soft foreground in your frame. Have a look into hyperfocal distance, particularly if you're shooting landscapes and looking for sharpness throughout your scene - also use a steady tripod and stop your aperture down when shooting at the ultrawide end (e.g. typically at 10mm I'll shoot between f/11 and f/16).

2. At the ultrawide end, the CPL can result in an uneven polarised effect if shooting when the sun is at a right angle to you - something to be aware of...
