Ordered one of these on special offer for a great price. Just wondered, my corsair TX650 PSU should be fine shouldn't it? I have a Q9550 clocked at 3.4GHz, 4GB of DDR2, Asus P5Q board, X-FI sound card, DVD burner and 6 hard drives.
 
Does any one know if the Gigabyte is a reference design board as I am in the market for a new card but I want one that I can get a water block for.

Well im running one overclocked to 800 Mhz plus a q9650 clocked at 3.7Ghz on an enermax 620 liberty and it doesnt skip a beat, so you will be fine.
 
My rig has'nt even hit 380w at the wall despite running Linx and Furmark stability test at the same time. If i remember right the most i have seen is 374w. Normal gaming usage is around 275-320w depending on the game.

I would have gone with the Gigabyte though if staying on air. Can't tell you how noisey the Asus is because the first thing i did was take the cooler off and fit a core only block to it. :D

my SOC has managed 470W out of the wall so far !!!
 
I'm not a big fan of these aftermarket style graphics card coolers to be honest. Had one on my 4870 and within 6 months it was making an awful screeching noise. They look a bit OTT to me too. I'd rather have the Asus card with a reference cooler to be honest. That and I got the Asus for a cracking price :D
 
total opposite for me I find aftermarket coolers better than reference ones. Often when I buy a video card second hand I order a cooler too and rip the reference one off and replace it. Also the temps usually drop 10-15c over the noisy reference ones.

Your mental not taking the uprated cooler, and better PCB.

Good guess on the price :p At the end of the day, you pay your money and make your choice. I thought the Asus was better value as I have no plans to overclock the card. I suspect it only really becomes very noisy on stress tests like Furmark. I'm a happy camper :D
