Had some wifi issues with my Nexus 7 2012, stripped it to find the wifi contact had broken of the logic board. It looks like I'll have to buy a new board, but with other issues with the screen I decided to get a new tablet.

Looking around for a few days I found this beast - Onda V989 A80T.

It has a 9.7 inch 2048x1536 retina screen, 2gb of ram and 32gb storage not to mention octa core cpu.

Full specs can be found online, don't want to link due to competitor rules.

Google Android 4.4.2 OS
9.7 inch 2048*1536 retina capacitive touch screen
Allwinner A80T Octa Core 2GHz
2GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB NAND FLASH ROM
Front 2.0MP + Rear 8.0MP camera
Supports 128GB TF card external
Support wifi 802.11 b/g/n
Support HDMI/Bluetooth/G-Sensor function

Price for this being under £140 delivered is a steal.

Should be with me by end of next week so will update the thread then.

is thre much difference between the Onda V975M Quad Core features Amlogic M802 Quad Core Processor and the Onda V989 with the Allwinner A80T Octa Core 2GHz cpu ?

I wondering wish processor is better, because they are going for the same price basically.

Well looking at the cpu benchmark, here's the comparison.

The V975M quad-core (4 x cpu) Antutu test result: 30642.

To directly compare with the rest of the market see below, however until I run a test myself I cannot prove this to be correct.

I wasn't aware of the V975M, but after now seeing it, I would still go for the V989 as it's newer tech. faster and is supposed to be less power hungry, resulting in better battery life and of course having twice as many cores. In addition has more ram and twice as much storage space.

Some more comments on the V989 -

Allwinner A80 is now getting into customer tablet designs here Allwinner is showing the reference design using the iPad Air Retina 9.7″ display, enabling thinner, lighter high performance Allwinner tablets, with thinner bezel, thinner form factor overall, powered by Allwinner's upcoming Octa Core big.LITTLE ARM Cortex-A15 and ARM Cortex-A7 with the PowerVR 6230 64-core GPU. Over 8 hours of battery life, potentially over 10 hours of battery life is possible. Allwinner shows how their 8-core big.LITTLE processor has superior performance over every other consumer ARM Processor on the market today. Demonstrating also the new PowerVR 6230 GPU performance, enabling better games, Allwinner A80 potentially plays games as nicely as 3rd generation home consoles on the tablet, on the TV Box home console and more. Allwinner also demonstrates how the big.LITTLE design enables for longer battery life and higher performance as needed.

The tablet has now been dispatched by DHL, 3-5 days from China.

Thanks for that, but I found a much better tablet and that is the onda v975W, it has the intel quad core atom processors and comes with windows 8.1 all for £145 just cant beat that at that price. Getting some great reviews too.

also from what i have read the Antutu score for the on da v989 is incorrect and its really should be about 36000 which is still fast.
