:D arrives Tuesday, cant wait.

Currently on an e6700 @ 3.0Ghz.

Think ill overclock the Q6600 to 3.0Ghz aswell...

Anyone else waiting on theirs?

Oh coupled it up with an Arctic Cooling 7 :D

well... ill see how it is.... ive used AC fans for a while now.... they always perform quietly and good.

If at 3.0Ghz the temps are too high i will ask for a recommendation on new cooling.

cant be bothered with water though.

Pffffftttt you people make me spend money.... but your also all very helpful! :D

so i got the Extreme HS&F & the Scythe 1600RPM, new CPU .... tomorrow is going be a new day.

So all i need to do is swap the CPU over.... then go into bios? change the multiplier to 10?

i just hope citylink deliver it to my neigbours if nobody is in at home like they normally do. Sod's law they will take back to the Preston Depot.

My case fan is at the Royal Mail depot as my girlfriend nipped to the shops. But my Thermalright has arrived.

so i now have the Thermalright added and am currently running the CPU at stock speeds. and it idles at 40c??? is this right????

i have the clamp as tight as possible etc. so its all bolted down... followed instructions fine .... got the thermal paste on there.... nice thin layer.... but.... it seems loose if i push it with a little strength.... slides on the cpu in other words.

Its this normal... does it have a bit of play?

no but thermalright's website was down last night but i just checked it..... and had a look at the heatsinks FAQ's and this question was one of them:

Question 4: I purchased an Ultra-120 eXtreme and I have a Socket 775 motherboard. I’ve bolted down the screws to their tightest and yet the heatsink can still be moved. Why is that? Will that affect the performance of the heatsink?

The Ultra-120 eXtreme works with the new version retention mechanism not having the heatsink-secured-in-place feature but rest assured that it is still well within Intel’s recommended pressure and does not affect performance at all.

:D:D:D:D
