Just ordered myself a E8200

Hi guys just ordered myself one of these Wolfdales and i currently have a ASUS P5B motherboard, it clearly states on the website i need BIOS 1803 to run this cpu, which i have flashed.

Now, just a quick query i was wondering if i was to overclock this cpu and something went wrong and i had to clear CMOS, would i have to put in the old cpu to flash the bios again or will the default bios be 1803 after i flash it?

Clearing cmos clears settings bios uses, it doesn't clear the bios (so the "default" will be 1803).

Yep. You can't change the BIOS itself without actively flashing it.

With only 2Gb it should do 950Mhz+ CAS5 assuming it's the PC6400C4 ULL he has.

Don't go above 1.4v, you,ll get chip degradation, when overclocking.
