So these are the things I ordered

Abit IP35 Pro
C2Q Q6600 Stock 2.40GHz
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS "Crysis Edition" 512MB GDDR3
GeIL 2x1GB PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
Antec P182
WD Caviar SE16 250GB16MB x 2
Pioneer DVR-212DBK 18x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
Noctua NF-S12 1200RPM 120mm

Once everything is connected together what excailty should I do next
Power on let it load into BIOS and let it run for half hour to make sure everything is ok or just install windows straight away

Wont be overclocking atm, so should I just leave the Bios settings to default
With this mobo are there any new upadtes that I should download on there website, or is it soo good there are no updates atm.

Just install Windows then drivers etc and your ready to go!

You might need to change the ram voltages.
Disable speedstep (EIST ...i think)

And install windows then drivers then you're sorted.

Why-o-Why did you get that HSF not to overclock though?

You can't go wrong with BIOS default if you don't overclock. I suggest installing everything outside case first to make sure that everything works fine before installing everything in the case.

If you're not sure about drivers just download the ones from Abit website.

just install windows, if there is some sort of error it's more likely to show up when it's copying files etc rather than sitting in the bios. although I would sit on the "pc health" page for a few minutes to make sure the heatsink is on properly etc, but even if it's on wrong it might be a case of it being on well enough to be stable in the bios, but not when installing windows.

can't go wrong with default bios settings when not overclocking, I always turn off logos though so I can see the POST messages.

On first boot up, go into the BIOS and load Optimized Defaults.

Reboot, go back in, and set all the RAM timings and voltages manually. Set the CD drive as first boot device and the hard drive as 2nd boot device.

Then install Windows :)

Once you've got Windows and the drivers installed, run Orthos for 8 hours or if you don't want to do that, run the OCCT 30 minute stress test - this will check that your system is stable.

Then enjoy!
